UK Birds - Birdlife and Bird Sightings throughout the UK Birds are a class of vertebrates. They are bipeda. Birds are warm-blooded.As birds are warm blooded their eggs are incubated to keep the embryos warm. Many of the Uk birds we expect to see each year are actually declining - the reasons for this are many ranging from lack of food and habitats through to global warming. You can also view the birds we have seen here in the Outer Hebrides - Western Isles Birds

Birds of Great Britain - Uk. The nuthatches are very acrobatic. They are the only birds to be able to descend tree trunks head first.
They area pretty bird - smaller than a sparrow although more stocky. Nuthatches have a blue - grey back with chestnut flanks. The nuthatch lives in woodland, parks and gardens, and sometimes visit bird tables. Mostly the nuthatch spends its time in trees - particularly liking oak trees
The UK is still a place where birds can find shelter and sometimes the birds visit the UK from places where the weather has extremes - both hot and cold - these birds escape for a while to the UK for short periods or sometimes seasons - even occasionally breeding in the UK before returning to their homes elsewhere on the continent. In short the UK sees a wide range of birds - some residents - some passing through. I hope to build upon this list of birds seen in other areas of the UK as and when we see them when we are out and about
