These common seals just sit there posing for the camera.
 
The replica of the Iron Age House which is currently open to visitors gives a real insight into how the residents of Bosta lived in The Iron Age.Date from 400 - 800 AD. It was actually gales in 1993 that exposed the remains
This is my favourite Harris Loch, just stunning!

There were about twelve meadow pipits, all flitting around ouside our house on the moors - May 2013. I had thought it was a rock pipit - but am informed that as this bird has pinkish legs and is olive coloured, then almost certainly it is a meadow pipit

May 2011 - the light was so great, Borve beach - simply glistened in the sun

 
This picture taken 30th May 2011 shows how secluded the beach is here, even as its getting to the "tourist season"
Particular areas of the Western Isles - have their own machairs made up of all different types of wildflowers - sometimes some of the species being only specific to that particular region. A carpet of colourful wildflowers specific to the Islands

  Northton-Isle of Harris- Walk to Medieval Chapel   A stunning walk - just over 3 miles, viewing Scarista and beaches, and then crossing the moor to view more Northton beaches - Isle of Harris, and also to see the astonishing medieval chapel - Rubh an Teampaill - built on the site where an Iron Age Broch was - and land occupied since Mesolithic periods!!!
