Dolphins are cetacean mammals closely related to whales and porpoises. The dolphins are highly intelligent marine creatures, they are part of a family of toothed whales. Dolphins are well known for their playful behaviour and whenever you come across them in the waters surrounding The Western Isles, they will often circle round your boat and even swim underneath it, leaping out of the water.
