Isle of Harris - Western Isles Photos

Harris is the southern and more mountainous part of Lewis and Harris, the largest island in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Although not an island itself, Harris is often referred to as the Isle of Harris. A person from Harris is known as a Hearach. Harris is a really dramatic Island in The Outer Hebrides that boasts some of the best beaches in the Uk. The North side is mountaineous and has many lochans and craggy rocks and lovely jetties, whilst South Harris has the beautiful beaches like Scarista, Luskentyre and Seilabost.

Red Deer - Isle of Harris
The deer in the Western Isles are thought to be some of the most genetically pure red deer in Scotland. It is probably in July that if you are very fortunate you may see the calves and the annual rutting takes place in October. A good place to see the deer is along the Huisinis Road. The Isle of Harris has a great selection of wildlife.....
