The Uists, a central group of Islands In The Outer Hebrides, Scotland. North Uist is in the centre or the group of Islands know as the Outer Hebrides The Hebrides are known stretch for 100 miles. The Outer Hebrides consist of the Isles of Lewis, Harris, Scalpay, Beneray, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist, Eriskay, Barra and Vatersay.

North Uist has fresh and salt water lochs bordered on its western side by miles of sandy beaches, and crofts. On the west side of the island the road follows the machair, (the fertile coastal grassland bordering the sand dunes), whilst the eastern side is mainly water. This area is a fisherman’s and bird watchers paradise.South Uist is a beautiful island of crystal clear waters with white powder beaches to the west and heather uplands dominated by Beinn Mhor to the east. The Isles of Barra and Vatersay are the most Southerly inhabited islands in the Western Isless and the most Westerly in the U.K.
