Stornoway is a lovely peaceful town. It is the capital of The Isle of Lewis. It boasts a lovely harbour, full of boats of every type, both working and leisure boats. There is a lovely view across the water of the Lews Castle which is being restored and is to be both a hotel and a cultural centre and will house the Stornoway museum, along with of course some of he famous Lewis Chessmen. Stornoway also sees its share of Western Isles Wildlife, common seals grace the harbour and an abundance of wild birds, like the stunning Grey Herons that roost in the trees near the harbour.
