Garry - Tràigh Ghearadha- The Isle of Lewis - The Outer Hebrides - Western Isles - Beaches
Garry Beach a beautiful beach with a distinct feel and character, Garry is actually the starting point for the Heritage Trail - a ten mile coastal walk to Ness. There are fine sea stacks and caves on the Garry beach - when the tide is out you can walk straight through these caves.

A scenes when looking down from the track after the Bridge to Nowhere

The heritage walk takes in Historical Sites and high level cliffs bounding with wildlife. You start the walk actually just past Garry beach at "The Bridge to Nowhere". The bridge was built by Lord Leverhulme as part of a road from Tolsta to Ness which was never completed. A photographers dream, the area is dramatic and scenic. At the top of the beach on the moorland tops there is a river and a freshwater loch decorated with water lilies and often visited by swans.
