This common gull chick began to walk, just a few yards in front of us. These birds will have been incubated for up to 28 days and fledge at 34 - 36 days - June 8th 2011

The Canada Goose - seen very rarely in the Western Isles - just a few sightings a year - this one may be one of a feral flock that seem to be frequenting the area of recent years.

This lovely blue tit - quite happily perching in the branches in the Castle Grounds - Oct 2010
 
Almost in unison - these two Oyster Catchers - feeding - Harris - Western Isles.
 
This juvenile gannet seemed to be a little lame and was taken off to be cared for ny the animal welfare persons along with a young dolphin that had been washed ashore

Dunlins have a short, rasping trill. They also have a purring song in flight.
