Seilabost a vast open expanse of sandy flat beach. The tide comes in and it is so shallow that sometimes the strand is a mix of golden sand and aqua blue waters as the tide comes in or recedes. At sunrise the first rays of light from the east, illuminate the Harris hills. Seilabost is pronounced "SHELL" a bost and the bost part means in Gaelic "farmstead" . The shallow estuary fills twice daily with the tides.
